Longtown Primestock Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts had forward an entry
of 8,523 sheep comprising of 5,326 lambs and  3,197 cast ewes & rams at
their weekly sale at Longtown Mart on Thursday 13th November 2025.

PRIME LAMBS

Another great entry of 5,326 prime lambs were forward to a full
ringside of purchasers.

Well finished lambs, 33-44kg, sold at increased rates of return; yet
again being in big demand and way short of purchaser requirements. Many more
are required for the next 4 weeks when lightweight lambs will be in big demand
and sold to advantage.  Heavy lambs maintained and again, in some cases,
surpassed recent good rates of return. Many more fed lambs can be sold to
vendor advantage at Longtown Auction.

Numbers are handled with ease if they are well finished, and are
keenly sought after. Leaner lambs are better sold on a Tuesday in Longtown.

Top Price per Head was a pair of Texel lambs from M/s K & M
Jameison, Woodhead  reaching £220

Top Price per Kilo went to a pen of Beltex Lambs from M/s Roots, Kilnford
Croft realising  460ppkp/kg.
