C&D Auction Marts had forward an entry of 5,860 sheep comprising of 55 lambs, 3,439 hoggs and 2,366 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown Mart on Thursday 30th April

Lambs selling at good rates far in front of last years rates. Many more wanted on a weekly basis to satisfy purchaser requirements.

Top per kilo at 440p/kg for Charollais lambs shown by R Whittaker, Hundalee House, Jedburgh.

PRIME HOGGS
Another very mixed entry of prime hoggs forward. Heavy hoggs seeing a slight rise whilst export hoggs were few and far between and keenly sought after.
Many more well finished prime hoggs can be sold to vendor advantage at Longtown.
