C&D Auction Marts had forward an entry of 6,408 sheep comprising of 3,648 hoggs and 2,760 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown Mart on Thursday 9th April 2026

PRIME HOGGS

A slightly smaller show of hoggs forward this week at Longtown.

A Texel x Herdwick hogg was kindly donated by Jonathan Hope, Orthwaite Hall to sell in memory in of Barrie Ward. The hogg got sold 11 times and a total of £4,000 was raised from the sale which will go towards supporting the fantastic work of Hospice at Home.

Jonathan and Cath would like to thank everyone who purchased the hogg.
