Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their sale of store and breeding cattle on Tuesday 14th January 2025.

A super show of both forward cattle and suckled calves were presented for sale before a full ringside of purchasers ensuring a serious trade throughout.

Topping today’s trading was a black 9 month old Limousin heifer produced and consigned by Wanwood Pts, Alston. This heifer went under the hammer to realise £2,500 being bought by a Hexham based herd master for further breeding. This wonderful run of 8-9 month old cattle went onto average an outstanding £1,579.

Another wonderful run of 11-13month old heifers consigned by M/s Reed & Hill, Stocksfield graced the ring at Longtown topping at £1,820 for a very well bred heifer and levelling at a whopping £1,610.

M/s Phillips, Netherhill brought forward a very smart run of 16-18 month old cattle topping at £2,080 for a strong steer levelling at a cool £1,901.

Charolais steers topped at £2,120 for a shapley 16 month old very well bred bullock consigned by regular vendors M/s RI & VA Telford, High Parkfoot whose run of very well bred 13-16 month Charolais cattle averaged £1,927.
