Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Report 10 March 2026
C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 2,824 Store Hoggs and 185 Breeding Sheep at Longtown on Tuesday 10th March 2026
First offering of ewes and lambs at foot set off a strong trade for all classes, topping the sale was a Texel cross ewe with a single lamb at foot from WN & JC Gilhespy, Tedcastle Farm realising £175 per life.
A mixed show of in lamb ewes met a strong demand with well-bred strong ewes being short of buyer’s requirements.
