C & D Auction Marts held
their weekly sale of 3,487 Store Hoggs and Breeding Sheep at Longtown on Tuesday
3rd February 2026.
500 in lamb ewes here at Longtown
topped at £330 for a pair of Texel ewes from John Connell Farms, Wanton Walls
Farm. A large ring side of purchasers on the look for in lamb sheep, many more
could have been sold to vendors advantage. Our next sale is on Tuesday 17th
February.
The part Dispersal from J & A
Coatsworth, Tile Sheds Farm Topped at £308 for a pen of one crop ewes closely
followed by pen of Two crop ewes realising £290. A massive credit must go to
the Coatsworth Family for producing such a tremendous run of home bred Texel
cross Cheviot Mule ewes which went on the average a fantastic £263.
3,487 store hoggs forward as they lift another gear with all
classes dearer again on the week. Many more store hoggs needed each week to
fulfil demand around ring side. With buyers travelling from far and wide
looking for numbers.
