Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 3,896 Store Lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 7th January 2025.

Starting the new year with a bang, store sheep reach another level as numbers start to tighten up! Numbers are required here at Longtown on a weekly basis to fulfil buyer’s demand.

Topping the day was a tremendous Texel lamb realising £180 from R & A Cullen, Crosshill Farm. Chasing not far behind at £170 was another fantastic Texel lamb from Solwaybank Farm Partners.

The Annual consignment of 533 Texel cross store lambs from R J Muir, Tow Law averaged an impressive £131.

A big mention must go out to Robbie Muir for very kindly donating a Texel Lamb in aid of Prostate Cancer which was sold and put back up again repeatedly to achieve a final figure of £1,555 raised for a very good cause . A big thank you to everyone involved.
