Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Reports

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 1,552 store hoggs,
feeding ewes and cast rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 25th
March 2025.

Breeding Sheep

A small offering of ewes with lambs met an
electrifying trade topping at £178 per life for Texel ewes with Texel twins at
foot from AR Bell & Son, Kirkton, Hawick.

Store Hoggs

A much smaller show of 1,354 store hoggs forward as numbers
start to dry up.  However, purchasers continue to travel up and down the
country looking for numbers.  A quality end of season show was on offer today
with a lot of little running hoggs around. Top price was for a fantastic Texel
hogg from Andrew Reid & Co, Glendearg, realising £160.

A fantastic run of 41 Texel cross
hoggs from W Slaven & Son, Foregirth Farm went over the average and hit an impressive
£140.
