C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 2,329 store lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 4th August 2026.
A similar number of stores forward with a lack of strong short keep lambs on offer. A big run of long term Blackfaced lambs from Campbeltown on offer today topping at £76. Majority of the sale running between £100 to £110 for long term consignments.

Feeding ewes remain a strong trade with more purchasers appearing at ring side on the look for numbers. Topping the sale was a North Country Cheviot ewe from Gibson Farming, Cut Thorn Farm realising £158. Many more feeding sheep needed every week to fulfil buyer’s demand.
