C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 2,590 store lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 26th August 2026.

A similar number of stores forward, same story as previous weeks with a lack of strong short keep lambs on offer. Topping the sale was a pen of Texel lambs from B Irving, Harper Hill realising £158. Longer term sheep seem dearer on the week with more purchasers appearing at ring side looking for numbers. Many more needed each week.

A larger show of feeding ewes forward met by a strong demand for all classes. Topping the sale was a Bluefaced Leicester ewe from Martin, Hesleywell realising £162. Many more feeding sheep needed every week to fulfil buyer’s demand.
