Dumfries Store and Breeding Sheep Report

C & D Auctions Ltd held their annual sale of blackface draft ewes in Dumfries on Saturday 28th September 2019.

1304 Blackface Ewes: A full ringside of old and new buyers ensured a strong trade for the offering forward. Selling at £73 £65 Auchenbrack, £70 Glenmanna.

227 Blackface gimmers much dearer to £140 Clonrae, £115 Hallscaur, £112 Chanlockfoot, £110 £101 Henderland.

The dispersal sale of cheviot x shetland ewes met plenty on interest being easily sold with 1-2 crop to £66 3-4 crop to £48.

A small show of store lambs was short of the buyers attending requirements - Blue Leicester- £66 Auchens,  Suffolk - £57 Hasting Hall £54 Carlton Croft, Texel - £57 Carlton Croft £55 Ford Cottage, Charollais - £56 Glenjaan, Blackface - £50 Hallscaur, £48 Furmiston.
