Dumfries Store Cattle Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts held their fortnightly sale of 601 store cattle in Dumfries, on Monday 3rd October 2022 which included the autumn sale of organic store cattle.

157 Organic Stores – Stronger cattle met competition whilst plainer types looked value.

Bullocks Ave 240.4p/kg and 281p/kg and £1350

Heifers Ave 213p/kg to 259.8p/kg and £1500

Leading price of £1500 from Killapol with a sim x heifer

Bullocks topped at £1350 for Sim from Killapol

414 Non Organic Cattle – A good ringside attendance of active buyers with better end of cattle easily sold whilst plainer sorts meeting less interest.

Bullocks average 219.7p/kg to 276.3p/kg and £1365

Heifers average 230p/kg to 320.5p/kg and £1460

A feature of the sale was the annual consignment of 62 British Blue x Saler Heifers from A & F Baillie, Low Glasnick which sold to £1460 to average £1172 or 266.4p/kg
