Dumfries Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auctions held their Spring sale of Breeding Cattle in Dumfries on Friday 16th May 2025.

A huge ringside of buyers were in attendance with all sections in big demand. 153 Bulling Heifers comprising of mainly 1st cross Dairy Heifers averaged £2184.64 which sold to £3050 for Limousins from Nelson, Seafield which were purchased by local Store Cattle producer TI Bell & Son, Cormaddie. British Blues to £2700 from Somerville, Larglea. Abeerdeen Angus to £2000 from Hiddleston, Park. 81 Breeding Females with Calves at foot sold to £4,800 (x2) for Limousin Heifers with Heifer Calves and £4800 for Aberdeen Angus Heifers with Bull Calf consigned by Sloan, Rigghead. Saler (2nd Calver) Cows with Charolais calves to £3700 from Paterson, Kildarroch. In Calf cows to £3050 for Aberdeen Angus from Kincaid, Slacks. Bulls to £4000 for a Limousin from Common, Crossdykes, £4000 for a Charolais from Irving, Auchenhay and Aberdeen Angus to £3800 Gemmel, Brownfield and Harkness, Netherhall.
