Christmas Poultry Sale

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward a large show of 473 lots of turkeys, geese, ducks & chickens at their annual Christmas poultry at their sale on Monday 22^nd December 2014. 

A great show of quality birds were forward and sold to a top price of £78 (x2) for heavy oven ready turkeys, with a top of £60 for oven ready geese.

Oven ready turkeys:  £78 (x2) Red House, £70 Gracemire, £66, £65 Red House, £62 Game Kennels, £60, £58 (x2) Red House, £58 Game Kennels.

Rough plucked turkeys:  £50, £48 Red House, £42 Cadgillside and Red House, £40 Cadgillside and Red House, £38 Cadgillside.

Oven ready goose:  £60 North Row, £52, £48 Sandbed, £46 Bank Head and Sandbed, £44 North Row, Sandbed and Bank Head.

Rough plucked goose:  £32 Basco Dykehead, £26, £20, £18 Breoch Park.

Oven ready duck:  £34 Waterside Cottage, £32 Basco Dykehead, £28 Waterside Cottage, £26 (x2), £25 Basco Dykehead.

Rough plucked chicken:  £24, £22, £20, £18 (x2) Sandbed.
