Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart plc held their sale of 82 store cattle at Longtown on Tuesday 17th March 2015.  A nice show of store cattle were on offer and plenty of keen bidders ensured trade continued at very high rates. More cattle needed to satisfy the growing demand.

Top price of £1,120 for a Charolais bullock sold by CW & M Smith., Forbesfield, with Limousins to £1,070 from M/s J Magnay, Smallholms.  Limousin bulls sold to £1,050, £1,040, £1,010 all three pens from JN Hall, Harelaw Hill.  Limousin heifers topped at £1,000 from M/s J Magnay, Smallholms.
