Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart plc had forward 113 head at their fortnightly sale of store cattle on Tuesday 4th August, 2015 at Longtown Mart. 

With the weather still wet, a full ringside of buyers bid keenly for all classes, meaning vendors went home delighted with their returns.  The sale was topped at £1,185 for British Blue heifers shown by A.T. & T.C. Skyrme, Eastfield of Wiston.  Top price in the bullock section was £1,170 for an Angus sold by local farmers T.H. & M.I. Huddleston & Son, The Green.  More required for the growing demand in Longtown.
