Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward a catalogue entry of 367 store cattle & suckler calves at their Special January sale at Longtown on Tuesday 19th January 2016.

A full ringside of bidders ensured vendors got a pleasant surprise and overall trade was better than witnessed in previous weeks.

The sale was topped at £1,120 for a wonderful pen of British Blue bullocks shown by A. & J.N. Story, Newbiggin, followed by a pen of Limousins also at £1,120 and also from Newbiggin. Charolais bullocks sold to £1,050 from T. Hutton, Church View. Angus bullocks topped at £1,000 sold by J. Irving & Son, The Stubb. Simmental bullocks also sold to £1,000 from W.A. & C.M. Vaughan, High Dovecote.

Heifers topped at £1,120 for Limousins from Messrs Story, Newbiggin, Charolais sold to £990 shown by W.G. & H.M. Kyle, Spoutbank and Simmentals topped at £920 again from High Dovecote.
