Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited held a catalogue sale of 419 store cattle and suckler calves at Longtown on Tuesday 10th May 2016.

A superb show of mainly grazing cattle saw spirited bidding from start to finish with trade well exceeding vendor’s expectations. The sale was topped at £1155 for a wonderful Limousin heifer shown by A & A Ewing, Dumbretton, then £1090 also from the same home. Charolais heifers topped at £1090 from Shankbridge End Farms. British Blue heifers sold to £1090 from JA & D Forster, Gillalees. In the bullock section the top was £1080 for a Limousin shown by DH & JM Murray, The Throp and Charolais to £1045 from W & A Forster, The Nook.
