Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had a catalogue sale of 141 store cattle on Tuesday 12th September 2017 which saw weathered cattle slightly harder to cash, but best sorts were a good trade and young 7-10 month old cattle very dear.

The sale topped at £1,180 for an Angus bullock sold by B & K Sloan, Stainton House. Charolais bullocks to £1,150 from CJ & BA Thompson, Edenbanks with British Blue heifers peaking at £1,090 shown by J Irving & Son, The Stubb.

BREEDING CATTLE

25 cows with calves were forward and saw older weathered cows a tad easier but younger cows met a good trade. The sale toped at £1,620 from A&E Park, Harley Rigg for a British Blue cow with Shorthorn bull calf.
