Great Annual Kirkcambeck Sale of Store Cattle

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward a large show of 1,042 store cattle at the annual Kirkcambeck sale on Saturday 14^th October 2017.

Trade for native bred cattle was very dear and well bid for throughout the sale. Vendors had cattle looking well and were rewarded as the average was up £67.23 on the year. The sale topped at £1,160 for a Limousin bullock sold by regular consigners N. Aitchinson, Kershopefoot, Newcastleton. Native breeds peaked at £1,120 on three occasions firstly for a pair of Blue Grey bullocks sold by M.E. & T.R. & K.M. Wallace, Farney Shield whose run of bullocks averages £1,142.86, secondly for a pen of 9 Beef Shorthorn bullocks from F.W. Graham, Highfield House and finally for an Angus from H. & M. Connell, Minsca. Galloway bullocks topped at £970 shown by C.A. & J.M. Hall, Whitchester.
