Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts, Longtown held a special catalogue sale of 347 store cattle plus 50 unentered cattle on Tuesday 16^th January 2018.

Best quality sold to an unbelievable trade with many vendors being dearer on the year due to a packed ringside of local and distant buyers bidding freely throughout, however the other end of cattle would be similar to recent weeks.

The sale topped at £1,350 for a wonderful Charolais bullock sold by loyal supporters RI & VA Telford, High Parkfoot with their load of cattle averaging £1,148.57. The Limousin bullock section sold to £1,250 (x2) and £1,245 (x2), with heifers selling to £1,260 (x3) and £1,230 (x2) all shown by WH & DA Gass, Nunscleugh, who also had a very impressive average of £1,204.29. Charolais heifers peaked at £1,240 and £1,230 again selling from High Parkfoot with British Blue heifers to £1,140 from TL Hogg & Son, Ryehills.
