Longtown Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts, Longtown held their fortnightly sale of store and breeding cattle on Tuesday 13th March 2018.
A smaller show of 64 stores and less quality on offer, but trade would be similar. The sale topped at £1,070 for a Limousin bullock from AJ Raine, Hazelgill with British Blue bullocks to £1,060 shown by AI & V Smith, Westwinds.
A large selection of 88 breeding cattle saw a full ringside of bidders ensuring a fine trade throughout. The sale peaked at £1,450 for an eight-year-old British Blue cow with Limousin bull calf at foot sold by CA Grieve & Sons, Snab Farm. Limousin heifers in calf sold to £1,350 and £1,320 from N & O Pattinson, The Flatt.
DF & RE Grant, Burrance of Courance sold a run of 40 outwintered hill Angus cows which were 6-16 years old and peaked at £1,180, averaging £890.50.
