Annual Kirkcambeck Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward an entry of 757 store cattle at the Annual Kirkcambeck sale on Saturday 17th October 2020.

A great entry of very well-bred native cattle which all vendors must be congratulated, as cattle were turned out in fine form and were forward to a full ringside of local and distant purchasers ensuring all classes of cattle sold to blistering rates, achieving an increased sale average being £162 up on 2019 for 50 head more sold.

Topping the sale was a strong pen of 4 Whitebred Shorthorn steers consigned by M/s RJ & DG Telford, Holme Head, Roadhead. Blue Grey cattle were forward in great numbers topping at £1,120 for a pen of 2 consigned by M/s A & A Hogg, Milnholm. Angus steers also topped at £1,120 being consigned by M/s D Moffat & Son, Bodesbeck, Moffat, whilst Beef Shorthorns topped at £1,090 consigned by RE & J Tyson, Moor Farm, Castlerigg. Galloway steers topped at £1,050 for a pen of 3 super steers consigned by M/s J Everitt, Kirkley Dam House, Wolsingham. Many cattle broke the £1,000 bracket with the sale exceeding all vendors expectations.
