Longtown Store Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited held their catalogue sale of 305 store & breeding cattle on Tuesday 17th August 2021.

A tremendous entry of store cattle were forward to a busy ringside of buyers, which saw quality lots very much in demand although plainer sorts proving harder to cash.

Topping the bullock section at £1,320 was a great Limousin shown by DJ & M Moffat, Rigg Smiddy, Rigg with heifers also selling at £1,320 for a shapely British Blue from Reed & Hill, Lingey Field, Hexham.  

Native bred cattle also in demand with Angus bullocks topping at £1,230 from TV & M Storey, Tinnis Hall, Canonbie.

Smart store bulls sold to £1,220 for Limousins consigned by DJ Garthwaite & Son, Wyseby Hill Cottage, Kirtlebridge.  

Longtown Auction hosts its next store cattle sale in a fortnights time on Tuesday 31st August, with the Special September Sale of store and breeding cattle on Tuesday 7th September.

The Annual Kirkcambeck Sale for traditional native bred cattle will be held on Saturday 16^th October.
