Longtown Store Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had their show & sale of 618 store cattle on Saturday 1st October 2022.

An outstanding show of seriously well bred cattle were forward to a packed ring of purchasers, Cattle that were in forward condition sold to a premium whilst weathered cattle proved harder to shift. Top price on the day of £1,820 for a Limousin heifer W.H. & D.A. Gass, Nunscleugh. 

Judging was ably carried out by Mr James Crichton who awarded the championship to a Limousin heifer from D.A. & M.A. Teasdale, Grindon Hill which later realised £1,450.  The reserve champion was a very smart Limousin bullock shown by G Mitchinson & Sons, Gallowberry which sold to £1,420. The cup for the best Charolais went to W.G. & H.M. Kyle, Spoutbank for a heifer selling at £1,580. The show was kindly sponsored by Capontree Vets.
