Longtown Store Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their special January sale of 300 store cattle on Tuesday 17th  January 2023.

A 9 month old Limousin x heifer sold for 1900 from Wanwood Hill

What a show of cattle and a trade to match. A lot of time and effort went into breeding and presenting these cattle for sale and credit must go to all vendors. Trade from start to finish for all classes was nothing short of electric, being close to £150 up on the year.

The sale was topped at £1,900 for an outstanding 9 month old Limousin heifer shown by Wanwood Partners, Wanwood Hill, Alston, with another selling to £1,880 from the same home. The quality consignment of calves from Wanwood Hill went on to average an eyewatering £1,367 for 17 forward.

Bullocks sold to £1,670 for an exceptional Charolais from RI & VA Telford, High Parkfoot, Roadhead with Limousins selling to £1,510 (x2) from TN & F Cowan, The Ash, Roadhead.
