Longtown Store Cattle Sale Report
C & D Auction Marts held their Special February sale of 200 store cattle at Longtown on Tuesday 10th February 2026.
A mixed entry of cattle forward to a packed ringside of local and travelled purchasers which ensured a flying trade from start to finish. Topping the sale was a strong Limousin steer shown by Shields Farming Co Ltd, Teviotdale, Morpeth which realised £2,390, this consignment of cattle went on to average £2,355. Heifers topped at £2,340 for an outstanding Limousin cross consigned by herds masters M/s G Mitchinson & Sons, Gallowberry, Kirkcambeck.
More cattle are wanted every fortnight to supply a very competitive ring of purchasers and will be sold to vendor advantage.
