Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report
STORE SHEEP
C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 3,135 store hoggs & feeding ewes at Longtown on Tuesday 21st February 2017.
Another good but poorer show of hoggs attracted more buyers, nevertheless trade was again strong for all classes.

BREEDING SHEEP
Tuesday 21st February 2017 saw C&D Auction Marts Ltd, Longtown, hold its Special February sale of in lamb females, where a catalogued entry of 3,070 were forward, and unbelievably a total clearance was had contrary to some conflicting reports regards in lamb sheep being a bad trade and hard to sell. The ring was packed from beginning to end with plenty of variety on show and something for everyone.
The sale was topped at £148 for a Texel shearling scanned with twins from Eastmains Farming Co. Also included were the dispersals on behalf of Messrs Lawson, Winshield and J W Shearing, The Hagg, along with a reduction from Lilburn Estates. Principal prices as follows:
