Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Limited had forward 1,141 store hoggs & feeding ewes at Longtown on Tuesday 28th March 2017.

An excellent show of sheep for the time of year attracted the usual ring of buyers, all classes again met an excellent trade.

Top of £76 for North Cheviots from Rowhope. Texels to £73, £71 and £70 Eglingham Moor; Suffolks to £70 Burnhouse; Greyface to £68.50 Whitfield Farms and £64 Redesmouth; Blackface to £70 and £68.50 Miltonise and £64 Redesmouth; Hill Cheviot to £71 Rowhope and £69.50 Priesthaugh; Easycare to £67.50 Croys Lodge; Swaledale to £44 and £41.50 Whitfield Farms; Herdwick to £52.50 and £44.50 Row Head and £41 Middle Row; Zwartble to £57 Wallridge Cottages.
