Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward a much larger show of ewes & hoggs with lambs at foot, including the 2nd prize show and sale of hoggs with lambs at foot at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 21st May 2019.
The show was sponsored by Eden Farm Supplies (Brough) Ltd and ably judged by Mr Stuart Lake, Hethersgill who awarded his championship to the first prize pen of Mule hoggs and lambs from Messrs Winter, Clickham. These later went on to sell for the days joint top price to the judge. Also selling at £100 was the 2nd prize pen of Texel x hoggs and lambs from Messrs Taylor, Harras, selling to Messrs Fleming, Woodfoot.

Outwith the show, all classes of hoggs & ewes with lambs at foot sold to a much sharper trade on the week, with all stronger and younger outfits well bid for exceeding all expectations.
