Longtown Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had a great entry forward of 888 breeding sheep at our special opening sale of ewes, shearlings & hoggs with lambs at foot and geld hoggs at Longtown on Tuesday 5^th May 2020.

A tremendous trade for all classes of stock, with all vendors being delighted with prices attained.

Highlight of the day’s sale was the annual consignment of Texel x hoggs with Beltex x lambs at foot from David Carr, Highwood who topped the day at £112 & £111 per life, with both lots selling to Messrs Pearson, Wavercroft.

A great entry of ewes with lambs at foot were well bid for, with many consigners seeing a strong increase on the year. Topping at £85 a life for four shear Texel x ewe from D. Baxter, Moss Side.
