Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their weekly sale of 3,041 store lambs on Tuesday 28th July 2020 at Longtown. A mixed show of lambs forward with strong forward types very easy to cash whilst a bigger show of long keep lambs were slightly easier than last weeks blistering rates, achieving an overall sale average of £73.05.

Topping the sale was a pen of Texel x lambs consigned by JF Latimer, Chapel House realising £105. First draw Mule wethers sold to a top of £74.50 being consigned by Messrs Reed, The Knarr. Many more best bred Beltex and Texel cross lambs could be sold to vendors advantage, along with stronger forward types are required on a weekly basis here at Longtown auction.

A small show of breeding sheep sold to a top of £144 for Suffolk cross gimmers and £130 for Texel cross one crop ewes from Woodland View.
