Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 4,096 head at their second sale of store hoggs, cast ewes and rams at Longtown on Tuesday 12th January 2021.

Another large ring of buyers forward all keen to buy sheep, trade was absolutely fantastic at record prices, with the majority of hoggs selling at £105 to £115. Top of £129 for Beltexs from Whitstone Hill, others to £126 Pallet Hill, £123 North Synton; Texels to £125 Dormansteads, £123 Greenburn (Story), £121 Gibbs Hill & The Flatt (Atkinson), Charollais to £125, £119 Moss Side (Baxter); Suffolks to £125 Falnash, £120 Greenburn (Story); Cheviot Mules to £108 Marwhirn, £107 Dormansteads; Greyfaces to £111 Greenburn (Story), £105 Greyside; North Country Cheviots £106, £101 North Synton; Hampshires to £99 Morwood, Romneys to £93 Coolingel; Kerry Hills to £91 Derskelpin Farms.
