Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 6,164 store lambs and feeding ewes at Longtown at their weekly sale on Tuesday 9th November 2021.

Another large entry attracted several extra distant buyers, trade was outstanding from start to finish with record prices being obtained. Lowland, Suffolk and continental lambs averaged £100.99, with no fewer than over 1,200 lambs selling at £100 and over.

Hill lambs met another terrific trade with record prices being realised.

A small show of mainly hill breeding ewes met another strong enquiry and were easily sold.

Feeding ewes (792) the largest show of the season and its best trade so far.

Top in the lamb section was £140 & £126 for Suffolks from High Bellochantuy, Campbeltown.
