C&D Auction Marts Ltd had a greater number of ewes with lambs at foot forward on Tuesday 12th April 2022, as is the current trade, ewes with strong lambs are very much in demand, with smaller lambs harder to cash.

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 612 store hoggs, feeding ewes & cast rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 12th April 2022.

With the usual buyers present and a good show of hoggs for the time of year, trade was animated throughout with late high rates easily maintained.

Top price £117 for Cheviots from Archbank; Beltex to £116 from Douglas Hall, Lockerbie, £107 Pow Heads; Texels to £113, £112 Douglas Hall; Greyfaces to £95 Palmer Hill; Cheviot Mules to £95 Hawthornbank; North Cheviots to £111, £109 Mains of Machermore; Lleyns to £95, £93 The Height (Irving); Hill Cheviots to £105, £99, £96 Black Hall; Kendal Roughs to £93, £83 Gill Head (Hodgson); Ryelands to £89 Low Old Shield; Swaledales to £67, £63 Keskadale Hill.
