Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 815 head of ewes, shearlings and hoggs and lambs at foot on Tuesday 14th June 2022, another excellent show of sheep forward attracted many customers. Record prices were again achieved, with numbers short of requirements.

Top of £168 and £158 for Scotch Mule geld hoggs from Blackett House Farms, who also sold Texels at £150 and Hill North Cheviots at £125.

Hoggs and single lambs sold to £140 (x2) for Texels from Quarry House, who sold others at £136, with others to £130 Little Bavington & Mount Farm, £128 Little Bavington; Greyfaces to £116, £107, £106 Seat Hill.

Shearlings with twin lambs sold to £138 (£414 an outfit) for Texels from Quarry House.
Shearlings with single lambs sold to £89 for Greyfaces from Desoglin.

Ewes with twin lambs at foot sold to £102 & £98 for Texels from Quarry House; Greyfaces to £93 Dalwyne, £92 Howberry; Cheviots to £80 East Nethershield; Kerry Hills to £81 Dalwyne; Blackfaces to £50 East Nethershields.

Ewes with single lambs to £102 for Texels from Desoglin; Cheviots to £81, £78 Girnwood, Kerry Hills to £85 Dalwyne; Blackfaces to £74 Brewery House Barn; Shetlands to £62 Brewery House Barn.

Ewes with triplet lambs to £68, £66 for Lleyns from Unthank, who also sold Berrichons at £63.
