Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 1,236 ewes and hoggs with lambs at foot at Longtown on Tuesday 30th May 2023.

Hoggs and lambs again proved a very selective trade topping at £136 for 3 shapley teel hoggs consigned by Messrs J & S Anderson, Stouslie farm, Hawick. Topping the mule section was a strong pen of Swaledale bred mule hoggs with strong texel cross lambs at foot consigned by Seat Hill farm, Laversdale, Carlisle. More quality outfits are sought after for retained customers and can be sold to vendor advantage.

Ewes and lambs sold to the dearest trade this season, ensuring all customers left delighted with their days trading. Topping at £139 a life (£417) for a pair of Texel ewes with sharp twin lambs at foot consigned by Messrs J & S Anderson, Stouslie Farm, Hawick.
