Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 7,008 store lambs and feeding ewes at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 7th November 2023.

A mixed but similar show of lambs attracted many buyers from the South, trade the best of the season, up £5 to £8 on the week.

Breeding sheep (723) a larger show on the week, with trade sharp all round. Top £300, £240, £210, £200 from Landfoot Farm, who also sold Texel gimmers at £160; Blackfaces to £94 Glenreasdale. Ewes to £66 for Blackfaces from Glenoe Estate; Herdwicks to £55 Clea Hall. Ewe lambs to £108 for Cheviot Mules from West Lodge South.
