Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward 4,027 store lambs and feeding at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 19th December 2023.

A larger than expected show of store lambs, although quality was poorer, plenty of buyers present, trade just as dear for all classes.

Top £130 for Texels from Kiln Hill, others to £121 Drinkstone, £115 Bayldon & Minsca; Beltex to £112 Nether Stenries, £109 Lanerton, £100 Carrowborough; Suffolks to £122 Moss Side, £105 Merkland, £104 Waterhead of Dryffe; Charollais to £107 (x2) & £97 Moss Side; Greyfaces to £115 Cowdenburn, £101 Bayles & Merkland; North Cheviots to £99 North Synton, £97 Gillesbie Farms; Half-Breds to £85 Earlside; Cheviot Mules to £100 Isle of Man; Hampshire to £101 Dyke.
