Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts had forward 7,891 store lambs, feeding ewes and cast rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 21st October 2025.

Lambs of all classes maintain last week’s high rate of returns despite the dip in fat trade. A much larger show of store lambs forward met be new faces around ring side. Topping the sale was a fantastic Texel cross lamb realising £141 from S & SL Phillips, Netherhill.

Feeding sheep in short supply with a smaller show on offer, many more needed each week to fulfil demand.

A massive Thank you to Norman Douglas, Catslackburn Farm for travelling down and judging the Cheviot show of store lambs.
